We did it! A little a over a year after the close of the Noc Noc, Sinner Saint Burlesque challenged ourselves to go beyond the bump 'n' grind. Although for years, our fans have known us to push the boundaries of burlesque by adding innovative storytelling to our shows through our signature "narrative cabaret" format. So while we've been telling stories that are important to women -- about our bodies, about our sexuality, about femininity -- for a long time, Inheritance allowed us to do something entirely new to us; it allowed us to turn cabaret into theatre.
We could not have created such an important and personal work of art without the support of our friends and fans. We share our deepest love and gratitude to you all for supporting us during the creation of Inheritance in the myriad ways you did: attending the summer series cabarets, sponsoring Inheritance itself, and, most importantly, attending Inheritance and spreading the word.
We are currently researching places to take Inheritance so that others outside of Seattle can experience the work we've been doing. We will be performing Inheritanceat the 2015 Women of Wisdom Conference right here in Seattle, but we also want to take it to points beyond: to Bellingham, Spokane, Olympia, Portland, Boise, and anywhere else the divine feminine calls us to go.
So here is where we ask for your assistance one more time: if you saw Inheritance at Theatre Off Jackson and were moved by it, and know of a place where we could stage Inheritance outside of Seattle, let us know! We want this show to reach as many people as possible, and you can help us with that simply by word of mouth.
So drop us a line at email@example.com if you have a great idea about where Inheritance can go!
