My Inheritance is to lead the restoration of humanity... To create a world where people welcome, cultivate, and exemplify the complexity, power, and potential of human relationships. To learn more about how I discovered my purpose visit my website.
Dancing has been therapeutic for me my whole life. I've turned to it in times of suffering, confusion, joy, grief and rage. I've studied modern, jazz, Latin and ballroom dancing with instructors from around the world. I stumbled on burlesque totally by accident. At the time, I had just ended a relationship and was dying to do something sexy for myself as a form of self-care. Walking around town with a friend one night, I came across my first burlesque show. Never before had I seen a group of women dancing with such agency, such delight, and such vigor in celebration of their bodies! It had a significant impact on me. I had NEVER seen women embrace themselves like that before. What a damn shame! A year later I took a class at the Academy of Burlesque and the rest became history. Following my recital I was invited to audition for an internship position with Sinner Saint. Got it. Loved it. Joined the troupe. And am now an owner. It is incredible what life gives us when we just say yes and follow what we know to be true.
I broke onto the burlesque scene in 2010 and hit the ground running performing with Sinner Saint at their weekly review, lighting up the stage at the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival, headlining in “Electric Burlesque” in London, and twirling her tassels at Bumbershoot. I love to explore the many dimensions of power and primacy in my acts, particularly using female characters. I am playfully political, flirtatiously foxy and cunningly cosmopolitan because as we all know, well behaved women seldom make history.
When I'm not dreaming of taking Inheritance on a world tour, I am a leadership and organizational development consultant, coach, trainer and inspirational speaker. I work with clients to restore their ability to harness people power, ignite productivity, create workplace joy and connect in more authentic ways. I help people, teams and organizations through critical transformational change. Leadership psychology is my thing - I specialize in teaching the cognitive, emotional, social, intuitive, organizational and cultural leadership competencies needed to facilitate systemic wellness. I'm proud to say I've worked with over 17,000 clients nationally and internationally. I hold a MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution, and a MA in Leadership and Organizational Development.
This summer I'll be dancing at Urban Campfire and hosting breakout sessions on systems thinking, team-building, play/performance in the pressure cooker and feminine leadership.
