Inheritance: Maiden, Mother, Crone is rooted in neo-burlesque, but is not a cabaret. It is an ensemble theatrical work, but not a play. It is political, but not a protest. This genre spanning work is the unification of performance art, intergenerational dialogue, feminism, beloved community, a splendor of the senses, and a collection of both archetypal and modern folklore engaging audiences in the most important conversation of the century.
Inheritance: Maiden, Mother, Crone presents Sinner Saint's will and testament, describing what we hope the world will inherit from us. A major part of this show, and our biggest creative challenge yet, is to build and invite audience members to a world where we challenge some of the most basic and pervasive assumptions about womanhood, power and the structure of humanity – to prototype a world where the feminism, wholeness, health and celebrating experiences of women are practiced by default, universal and simply THE unquestioned way of being. Inheritance will entertain, challenge, empower, confuse, embrace and deeply engage you. It will be a sexual, social and spiritual revolution as the audience is provided with an opportunity to watch and participate in the design of liberation and the unfolding of what it means to be a woman.
