We are Sinner Saint Burlesque.
We are NOT producing a burlesque show.
Diva le Déviant explains. Here is why...
You know we’re movers and shakers. But, did you know that we are also risk-takers?
You know us for our internationally acclaimed show-stopping neoburlesque, but we want to push the burlesque envelope...because we love a sexy new challenge. And social justice is sexy.
Sinner Saint is weaving in a new social justice platform to our well-known brand of entertainment and doing something few others are doing. We are producing shows that curate local talent and engage the community. We are producing shows that attempt to not only entertain you, but that's purpose is to invite you into a conversation with other community members. We believe holding a safe space for our community to listen, watch, learn, feel, talk, share art and better understand one another will build a stronger, more resilient and more socially just community...and world.
We take risks to stretch ourselves personally, professionally and creatively. This year we are embarking on a many new firsts and creative adventures: a full-length theatrical show, we're including more singing, we're choreographing four times as much ensemble work, we're adding film to our shows, we’re integrating a stronger social justice platform into our brand, we’re directing short film videos….and in the Summer Series we’re producing shows with the purpose of community building.
This is what our Summer Series is about. The Summer Series productions are three unique community productions aimed at providing a spotlight on local artists, and promoting community connection. Sinner Saint is your host for our Summer Series exploring female mythology and archetypes in which we showcase the art, talent, passions and legacy of women in the Pacific Northwest and Seattle area. Expect to see dance, poetry, painting, singing, storytelling, education and advocacy. Get ready to engage with local artists and audiences and start a conversation about how art impacts you. There will even be an opportunity to participate in an auction of local female artists' work! But that is not all! You will also get to see a sneak preview of what Sinner Saint is preparing for our full-length production at Theatre Off Jackson in October 2014.
We hope you will join us in our new endeavors. You can get tickets here for the Summer Series Crone Show, August 14th.
In taking risks, sometimes we will succeed, and sometimes we won't. Thank you for supporting us and our desire to grow, learn, entertain and make a difference through our art. Who knows, if we fail, maybe you will hear about it at the next Very Special Feelings Show!
