We are NOT producing a burlesque show.
Sailor St. Claire explains. Here is why...
Reason #7 - Art has impact. Last year Sinner Saint hosted its first ever talk back at the Can Can. We wanted to hear what impact our art was having in the world, and were humbled by the response. Our art is about storytelling. For the first time, we had the honor of hearing how our stories influenced you, and we were in turn deeply moved by you sharing your stories with us. Take it from this Showgirl Scholar, stories will change the world.
Erin Morgenstern describes the impact of stories by saying, “You may tell a tale that takes up residence in someone's soul, becomes their blood and self and purpose. That tale will move them and drive them and who knows that they might do because of it, because of your words. That is your role, your gift.” It fills us with gratitude to learn from your stories and share ours with you.
We want to continue to hear how our art has made a difference in your lives. We want to create a space that allows other performing artists to influence the world with their art too. You are our teachers. We learn from your experiences, your voice and your participation.
This is what our Summer Series is about - sharing art and stories that transform our hearts and minds. The Summer Series productions are three unique community productions spotlighting local artists, and promoting community connection. Sinner Saint is your host for our Summer Series exploring female mythology and archetypes in which we showcase the art, talent, passions and legacy of women in the Pacific Northwest and Seattle area. Expect to see dance, poetry, painting, singing, storytelling, education and advocacy. Get ready to engage with local artists and audiences and start a conversation about how art impacts you. There will even be an opportunity to participate in an auction of local female artists' work! But that is not all! You will also get to see a sneak preview of what Sinner Saint is preparing for our full-length production at Theatre Off Jackson in October 2014.
Help us expand our circle of friends. If you know someone who might be inspired and entertained by our art, invite them to join you at one of our Summer Series shows and attend our full-length production at Theatre Off Jackson in October.
